The Last Week Begins!

Sunday, I picked dad up to drive down for the last 3 treatments. Come on dad, let’s go!

What was I thinking, of course he wanted to drive!

Well, we did well with the traffic until right outside of Houston.

Luckily, it cleared up and we made it in time for dinner.

Last of the Fridays….Waiting and Driving….

This is the last Friday of dad’s treatments! It is hard to believe it is almost done. He has only 4 more to go (including today’s)! Here he is suiting up for game day!

Now his usual routine of checking in for the treatment.

Just like every day, waiting area “J” is where he waits for his radiation treatment.

Considering after the radiation dad needs to go see the Dr for his weekly check up, it seems like it would be much cooler if they combined them - Dr. J.

Here is dad in the hall part of waiting area J.

After radiation, we went to go see Dr Debaga…..this appointment took forever! Sheez. It started off on time. Here he is getting his weekly weigh in...

Now the nurse enters in some vitals and stats into the computer (notice the clock time on the wall – 8:58am).

To help speed things up, I helped with the data entry...

Now waiting 10 minutes….looking rather excited – NOT.

40 minutes now...hmmmm...what’s missing from this picture? Still no Dr.

Ah....finally...here she is, but don’t be impressed as this was a fake out at 55 minutes...she just popped in to say she would be back.

Oh, here we go...the door opens and we think it is Dr. Debaga....

Nope, it was just El Debarge...OK, finally she comes in to talk 10 minutes later...

And it was worth it. Good news. Dad is still doing well, so we decided to drive back to Dallas for the 4th of July.

Back To Houston....For the Weekend....

I came back to Houston in time for dad's Friday treatment. Here is a pic of him lounging around on Thursday night....Not much going on otherwise...just looking forward to the treatments being done for the week.
