The long day of tests is over....for now!

This is the first entry which is technically a couple of days into this adventure. We drove down to Houston on Sunday to get ready for the check in process and testing that would occur on Monday - Friday. The drive down in my dad's Acura was nice....not too much traffic and no real excitement. We got checked in to the Residence Inn and situated for the next day's events. Nina had some unexpected roommates in her room...ants, but otherwise the hotel was pretty good.

Monday's process was pretty smooth. We took the shuttle over to the MDAnderson Cancer Center. It only took 15 minutes which was great. Once inside, the people were very helpful and got us going on all the entry paperwork. There are a lot of really cool aquariums to look at while waiting in the lobby, so that helped pass the time. We didn't have to wait long though before "Jackie" called us in to go through all the legalities and insurance stuff. After that, it was back to the lobby. Next came Simon the Greek. He was a hospital volunteer that covered mostly high level logistics about the building; the most important of which was where the cafeteria was located (which was not bad, not bad at all).

Well, I am back in New Jersey now and not with everyone down in Houston....my sister has been keeping me informed though on the long day's testing. Here is a pic she sent of my mom and dad looking so excited to be waiting for my dad's next appointment :-)
